For a photographer the Cook Islands is about a picturesque a location as you could get. So when Mark and Emma approached me to photograph their Rarotonga wedding I jumped at the opportunity.
There are few locations as relaxing as Rarotonga for a wedding and Mark and Emma’s was no exception. The Edgewater resort was the location for the ceremony and it was a balmy 27c, so it was just as well the boys were wearing shorts! We captured some fun photos on sunset before heading to the reception venue, surrounded by palm trees overlooking the beach. After a delicious surf n turf buffet, the wedding party danced the night away under a star filled sky.
Marchburn is a Luxury Lodge situated in the heart of the Ida Valley, Central Otago. Surrounded by open grasslands and mountain views, Marchburn is the perfect getaway from the hustle of day to day life. If you are cycling the Rail Trail, Marchburn is an ideal stop over sitting mere meters from the infamous trail. I was lucky enough to visit Marchburn and capture some photos last month for owners Graham and Donna.
Stoked to see one of my Cardrona photos on a rather large billboard at the Queenstown Airport. This was taken on the very first day of 2012 and only a few meters from the chairlift, some of the driest pow I have seen in NZ! Thanks to Matt Proctor for slashing some pow to make the shot, chur!
I recently received this lovely card from Logan and Hannah, probably the most chilled and relaxed wedding couple…
“Thank you so much for all the amazing photos. You did an awesome job in documenting every moment of the day. It truly was an amazing day for us and will always be remembered with the help of the photos”.
Who would of thought it was wet and windy that day! It’s kind words like these that make been a photographer so enjoyable, thanks guys!
I literally have hundreds if not thousands of photos of my beautiful hometown Lake Wanaka. Unfortunately 99% of them have resided deep within my computer hard drive, yearning to be printed in some form or another.
Inspired by a surf magazine cover I created a collage and printed it on the finest quality German canvas. It is now available from the coolest art store in the Southern Hemisphere, The Wonder Room (limited edition of 10). To get your hands on one of these bad boys head to www.wonderroom.co.nz
Thanks! : )
I was fortunate enough to photograph Harriet and Bud’s Wanaka wedding for Aspiring Photography. The ceremony was held on the banks of the Clutha River and the stunning Autumn colours made for a beautiful backdrop. The weather was incredible and the arrival of Harriet in a hand made Canadian canoe added that extra special touch. To top it off following the ceremony the bridal party rafted down the mighty Clutha river to Albert Town. As you may have guessed Harriet and Bud both share a love for watersports! Thanks for a great day guys, hope you like the photos.
I just found out that my Lake Matheson photograph (below) was selected in the Australian Nature Photographer of the year Competition. I am grateful to have been selected amongst the 1828 images from over 10 countries! The image will feature in a National Geographic book alongside other selected images and an exhibition in South Australia.
