Robyn and Kevin had the picture perfect summers day for their Wanaka wedding. Joined by close family and friends they celebrated their wedding in the gardens of the historic Cardrona Hotel. Friend Beverley conducted a heartfelt ceremony among the picturesque setting. Following the ceremony I captured some images with Kevin and Robyn’s family around the historic buildings. Thank you for choosing me as your photographer for such a special occasion.
Lisa and Scott’s wedding day began with gale winds, horizontal rain, lightning and thunder! Thankfully as the day progressed so did the weather and by the time the outdoor ceremony came around the sun was shining. The ceremony was at the picturesque Maple Lodge gardens with George Konia as celebrant and Jodie Rainsford as photography assistant. Following the ceremony the bridal party visited some locations around Wanaka for relaxed, fun group photos and a bottle of bubbles. The reception was back at Maple Lodge where the celebrations continued with a delicious banquet, speeches and dancing. Thanks for an epic day Lisa and Scott, I hope you had as much fun as I did.
Do you like local organic fruit, veg and meat? Do your children like animals? If yes then Edible Estate in Hawea Flat is well worth a look. Every weekend from 11am Edible Estate sells cheap locally grown organic produce. For the kids there is a petting zoo with a wide variety of friendly farm animals that can be hand fed : )
The other week I photographed a wedding for Aspiring Photography at Stoneridge Estate in Queenstown. Despite the ominous forecast the weather held out for Laura and Damien. The ceremony was held in the picturesque Stoneridge gardens followed by an epic heli trip up to ‘The Ledge’. Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps provided a stunning backdrop for photos. The reception was held back at Stoneridge where the celebrations continued. A fitting end to what one guest accurately described as a fairytale wedding. Thanks for an awesome day guys!

Having known Nic and Andrew for many years it was a privilege to be asked to photograph their Wanaka wedding. The weather gods turned on some epic weather which was ideal for the outdoor ceremony in the picturesque ‘Venue’ gardens. Following the ceremony the bridal party were escorted in style by classic cars for formal photos. We had plenty of laughs at some of their favourite locations including a mandatory brewski at the ‘huts’. Thanks again for an awesome day guys!
2014 Poster and Logo design for the Onehunga Half Marathon. The clients required a freshen up their existing branding with a modern clean look. They also wanted to incorporate the colours and fonts used on the Onhunga business website www.onehunga.net.nz. The final design was created in Adobe Illustrator CC with the background imported from Photoshop CC. If you are in Auckland at the end of September then I recommend you get give it a nudge! For some people rain may put a dampener on their wedding day. Not so for Hannah and Logan, rain, hail or shine, they were happy just to be getting married. It was a privilege to be part of their day and there were no shortage of laughs, most provided by Logan’s brother Joel (hope the elbow is ok Joel!). Despite the weather we still managed to get up with Charlie in the chopper, an added bonus to what was already an awesome day. A big thanks to Hannah and Logan and everyone who helped out.
I was recently contracted by MJ Media to create a new poster for their Coromandel Classic Multisport race. The iconic event runs over two days and includes a mix of running, mountain biking, kayaking and road cycling. MJ Media wanted the poster to be simple yet effective. I used the bright orange on black to give a strong contrast and also to tie in with the logo. I also used icons for the different disciplines to show what is involved in the event. To finish the poster of i used a textured background behind the logo and a solid bold serif type to really stand out.
Here are a few of my favourite photos over the past month. These include an aerial photo of an ice skater, a back country snowboarding excursion, a night shot of Lake Wanaka and a uniquely Wellington coffee shop. All photographs taken on my new Canon 6D with L series glass. Enjoy
