Robyn and Kevin had the picture perfect summers day for their Wanaka wedding. Joined by close family and friends they celebrated their wedding in the gardens of the historic Cardrona Hotel. Friend Beverley conducted a heartfelt ceremony among the picturesque setting. Following the ceremony I captured some images with Kevin and Robyn’s family around the historic buildings. Thank you for choosing me as your photographer for such a special occasion.
A couple of weeks ago I traveled to my hometown of Wanaka to photograph Lauren and Corey’s lakeside wedding. The ceremony was held on the lawns of Edgewater Resort overlooking photogenic Lake Wanaka. Lauren and the bridesmaids looked stunning and Corey wasn’t too shabby either (considering he had ‘kissed’ the concrete two days prior!). Following the ceremony it was off to Wanaka station park for bubbles n beers and bridal party photos before returning to Edgewater where celebrations continued. Thanks to Dom Channon for assisting me and a huge thanks to Lauren and Corey for choosing me as your photographer.
A few days ago I captured some images of Aaron to update his personal training website Peak 40. These images were taken in a quick 1.5hr shoot overlooking Lake Wanaka and the commanding Southern Alps. Aaron did a great job smiling and appearing warm despite the odd snow flurry passing through! Having known Nic and Andrew for many years it was a privilege to be asked to photograph their Wanaka wedding. The weather gods turned on some epic weather which was ideal for the outdoor ceremony in the picturesque ‘Venue’ gardens. Following the ceremony the bridal party were escorted in style by classic cars for formal photos. We had plenty of laughs at some of their favourite locations including a mandatory brewski at the ‘huts’. Thanks again for an awesome day guys!
Last week I worked on a small lifestyle shoot for Aaron and Kate Callaghan. They both work within the health industry and were seeking some fresh portrait imagery for their new websites. Wanaka turned on ideal spring weather and Aaron and Kate were a breeze to work with. To mix it up we started with a couple of more formal photos before a quick dressing room change and some lifestyle portraits down by the lakefront. If you get a chance check out Kate’s website at www.theholisticnutritionist.com, Aaron’s coming soon.
For some people rain may put a dampener on their wedding day. Not so for Hannah and Logan, rain, hail or shine, they were happy just to be getting married. It was a privilege to be part of their day and there were no shortage of laughs, most provided by Logan’s brother Joel (hope the elbow is ok Joel!). Despite the weather we still managed to get up with Charlie in the chopper, an added bonus to what was already an awesome day. A big thanks to Hannah and Logan and everyone who helped out.
Wanaka turned on picture perfect conditions for Emma and Ben’s wedding at Lookout Lodge. The Lodge was an ideal ceremony location with the stunning mountains providing an impressive backdrop. The flower girls and paige boy (their son Will) almost stole show looking so cute.
Following the ceremony we went to The shores of the mighty Clutha and Bremner Bay for formal photos, a special place for Emma having spent Summer as a child in Wanaka. Thanks for letting me be part of your special day guys and all the best for your future together : )

I literally have hundreds if not thousands of photos of my beautiful hometown Lake Wanaka. Unfortunately 99% of them have resided deep within my computer hard drive, yearning to be printed in some form or another.
Inspired by a surf magazine cover I created a collage and printed it on the finest quality German canvas. It is now available from the coolest art store in the Southern Hemisphere, The Wonder Room (limited edition of 10). To get your hands on one of these bad boys head to www.wonderroom.co.nz
Thanks! : )
I was fortunate enough to photograph Harriet and Bud’s Wanaka wedding for Aspiring Photography. The ceremony was held on the banks of the Clutha River and the stunning Autumn colours made for a beautiful backdrop. The weather was incredible and the arrival of Harriet in a hand made Canadian canoe added that extra special touch. To top it off following the ceremony the bridal party rafted down the mighty Clutha river to Albert Town. As you may have guessed Harriet and Bud both share a love for watersports! Thanks for a great day guys, hope you like the photos.
Last week I was asked to do a portrait photography and trash the dress shoot. Wanaka had turned on a stunning afternoon and the low lake levels provided some great reflections. A big thanks to Amy, Mike and the children you were great to work with and i am stoked you love the images!
