It’s Always a privilege to photograph a wedding, but even more so when it’s for good friends. I know Nathan and Olivia both worked their butts off to make an unforgettable wedding. Their hard work was rewarded with a stunning Autumn day in Matakana. The ceremony and family photos were held amongst the picturesque Plume gardens. This was followed by a picnic and bridal party photos at a local vineyard. Back at Plume Restaurant we were entertained with some classic speeches and dinner. The band kicked of the dancing which as I hear carried into the small hours. Thanks for allowing me to share your day Nathan & Olivia and I am stoked you are happy with the photos.
For a photographer the Cook Islands is about a picturesque a location as you could get. So when Mark and Emma approached me to photograph their Rarotonga wedding I jumped at the opportunity.
There are few locations as relaxing as Rarotonga for a wedding and Mark and Emma’s was no exception. The Edgewater resort was the location for the ceremony and it was a balmy 27c, so it was just as well the boys were wearing shorts! We captured some fun photos on sunset before heading to the reception venue, surrounded by palm trees overlooking the beach. After a delicious surf n turf buffet, the wedding party danced the night away under a star filled sky.
Last September I had an epic adventure mountain biking and photographing the Heaphy Track with the entertaining company of Matt Proctor and Dave Everton. If there was ever a mountain bike (or hike for that matter) that should be on your bucket list, this is it.
Our little adventure is now available in print in the latest issue of NZBike. I was graphic designer for the magazine for the past few years and this was the last issue I worked on. It was a great experience and awesome to leave my own personal stamp on the publication.
You can pick up a copy of the magazine including the four page feature here www.endurancesport.co.nz/nzbike.cfm
A couple of weeks ago I traveled to my hometown of Wanaka to photograph Lauren and Corey’s lakeside wedding. The ceremony was held on the lawns of Edgewater Resort overlooking photogenic Lake Wanaka. Lauren and the bridesmaids looked stunning and Corey wasn’t too shabby either (considering he had ‘kissed’ the concrete two days prior!). Following the ceremony it was off to Wanaka station park for bubbles n beers and bridal party photos before returning to Edgewater where celebrations continued. Thanks to Dom Channon for assisting me and a huge thanks to Lauren and Corey for choosing me as your photographer.
The Autumn colours were in full bloom for Samantha and Laurence’s wedding day in Wanaka. The ceremony was held in the picturesque St Columbia’s church in the heart of Wanaka (directly opposite the home where I grew up!). Following the ceremony we flew up to Coromandel Peak for some formal photos. The beautiful Lake Wanaka backdrop was enhanced by the moody light piercing through the clouds. An April wedding in Wanaka wouldn’t be complete without those Autumn colours so we made our way to the Lakefront. Just as the sun was setting we discovered an ideal location where the ground was carpeted in a sea of golden leaves.
Thanks for letting us be part of your wonderful day Samantha and Laurence.

Having known Nic and Andrew for many years it was a privilege to be asked to photograph their Wanaka wedding. The weather gods turned on some epic weather which was ideal for the outdoor ceremony in the picturesque ‘Venue’ gardens. Following the ceremony the bridal party were escorted in style by classic cars for formal photos. We had plenty of laughs at some of their favourite locations including a mandatory brewski at the ‘huts’. Thanks again for an awesome day guys!
Last week I worked on a small lifestyle shoot for Aaron and Kate Callaghan. They both work within the health industry and were seeking some fresh portrait imagery for their new websites. Wanaka turned on ideal spring weather and Aaron and Kate were a breeze to work with. To mix it up we started with a couple of more formal photos before a quick dressing room change and some lifestyle portraits down by the lakefront. If you get a chance check out Kate’s website at www.theholisticnutritionist.com, Aaron’s coming soon.
I have been working alongside Wanaka Stainless Steel the past few weeks capturing images of their contemporary Quirky outdoor furniture range. The fun yet practical designs make a stylish statement for any outdoor are. They are also durable and long lasting which is essential for our harsh Wanaka climate. This project has involved both daytime and evening shoots and has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience. For some people rain may put a dampener on their wedding day. Not so for Hannah and Logan, rain, hail or shine, they were happy just to be getting married. It was a privilege to be part of their day and there were no shortage of laughs, most provided by Logan’s brother Joel (hope the elbow is ok Joel!). Despite the weather we still managed to get up with Charlie in the chopper, an added bonus to what was already an awesome day. A big thanks to Hannah and Logan and everyone who helped out.
Wanaka turned on picture perfect conditions for Emma and Ben’s wedding at Lookout Lodge. The Lodge was an ideal ceremony location with the stunning mountains providing an impressive backdrop. The flower girls and paige boy (their son Will) almost stole show looking so cute.
Following the ceremony we went to The shores of the mighty Clutha and Bremner Bay for formal photos, a special place for Emma having spent Summer as a child in Wanaka. Thanks for letting me be part of your special day guys and all the best for your future together : )
