It’s Always a privilege to photograph a wedding, but even more so when it’s for good friends. I know Nathan and Olivia both worked their butts off to make an unforgettable wedding. Their hard work was rewarded with a stunning Autumn day in Matakana. The ceremony and family photos were held amongst the picturesque Plume gardens. This was followed by a picnic and bridal party photos at a local vineyard. Back at Plume Restaurant we were entertained with some classic speeches and dinner. The band kicked of the dancing which as I hear carried into the small hours. Thanks for allowing me to share your day Nathan & Olivia and I am stoked you are happy with the photos.
For a photographer the Cook Islands is about a picturesque a location as you could get. So when Mark and Emma approached me to photograph their Rarotonga wedding I jumped at the opportunity.
There are few locations as relaxing as Rarotonga for a wedding and Mark and Emma’s was no exception. The Edgewater resort was the location for the ceremony and it was a balmy 27c, so it was just as well the boys were wearing shorts! We captured some fun photos on sunset before heading to the reception venue, surrounded by palm trees overlooking the beach. After a delicious surf n turf buffet, the wedding party danced the night away under a star filled sky.
Lisa and Scott’s wedding day began with gale winds, horizontal rain, lightning and thunder! Thankfully as the day progressed so did the weather and by the time the outdoor ceremony came around the sun was shining. The ceremony was at the picturesque Maple Lodge gardens with George Konia as celebrant and Jodie Rainsford as photography assistant. Following the ceremony the bridal party visited some locations around Wanaka for relaxed, fun group photos and a bottle of bubbles. The reception was back at Maple Lodge where the celebrations continued with a delicious banquet, speeches and dancing. Thanks for an epic day Lisa and Scott, I hope you had as much fun as I did.
The Autumn colours were in full bloom for Samantha and Laurence’s wedding day in Wanaka. The ceremony was held in the picturesque St Columbia’s church in the heart of Wanaka (directly opposite the home where I grew up!). Following the ceremony we flew up to Coromandel Peak for some formal photos. The beautiful Lake Wanaka backdrop was enhanced by the moody light piercing through the clouds. An April wedding in Wanaka wouldn’t be complete without those Autumn colours so we made our way to the Lakefront. Just as the sun was setting we discovered an ideal location where the ground was carpeted in a sea of golden leaves.
Thanks for letting us be part of your wonderful day Samantha and Laurence.

The other week I photographed a wedding for Aspiring Photography at Stoneridge Estate in Queenstown. Despite the ominous forecast the weather held out for Laura and Damien. The ceremony was held in the picturesque Stoneridge gardens followed by an epic heli trip up to ‘The Ledge’. Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps provided a stunning backdrop for photos. The reception was held back at Stoneridge where the celebrations continued. A fitting end to what one guest accurately described as a fairytale wedding. Thanks for an awesome day guys!
Having known Nic and Andrew for many years it was a privilege to be asked to photograph their Wanaka wedding. The weather gods turned on some epic weather which was ideal for the outdoor ceremony in the picturesque ‘Venue’ gardens. Following the ceremony the bridal party were escorted in style by classic cars for formal photos. We had plenty of laughs at some of their favourite locations including a mandatory brewski at the ‘huts’. Thanks again for an awesome day guys!
I recently received this lovely card from Logan and Hannah, probably the most chilled and relaxed wedding couple…
“Thank you so much for all the amazing photos. You did an awesome job in documenting every moment of the day. It truly was an amazing day for us and will always be remembered with the help of the photos”.
Who would of thought it was wet and windy that day! It’s kind words like these that make been a photographer so enjoyable, thanks guys!
Wanaka turned on picture perfect conditions for Emma and Ben’s wedding at Lookout Lodge. The Lodge was an ideal ceremony location with the stunning mountains providing an impressive backdrop. The flower girls and paige boy (their son Will) almost stole show looking so cute.
Following the ceremony we went to The shores of the mighty Clutha and Bremner Bay for formal photos, a special place for Emma having spent Summer as a child in Wanaka. Thanks for letting me be part of your special day guys and all the best for your future together : )

It is always a privilege to be asked to photograph a wedding for someone. It is even more so when it is someone you have known for years and you are given the opportunity to capture the emotions and romance of their special day. This was the case for Kirsten and Nick’s wedding which I photographed for Aspiring Photography. It turned out to be a stunning spring day and the setting of Edgewater on the shores of Lake Wanaka was the perfect location. Thanks again Kirsten and Nick I hope you both had a wonderful day!
I was fortunate enough to photograph Harriet and Bud’s Wanaka wedding for Aspiring Photography. The ceremony was held on the banks of the Clutha River and the stunning Autumn colours made for a beautiful backdrop. The weather was incredible and the arrival of Harriet in a hand made Canadian canoe added that extra special touch. To top it off following the ceremony the bridal party rafted down the mighty Clutha river to Albert Town. As you may have guessed Harriet and Bud both share a love for watersports! Thanks for a great day guys, hope you like the photos.
